The French Country House is a beautiful farmhouse nestled in the hills of Pahoia in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand.
All four seasons offer their own unique charm amidst our 40 acres of park-like grounds.
In Summer, the shade trees allow plenty of delightful places for a picnic lunch while you enjoy the horses and ponies at play.
In Spring, you may want to take our donkey, Cheyenne, walking with you as the blossoms unfold and enchant. Or, as you delight in the beautiful autumn colours, you may want to hand-feed our free-range chickens or say hello to both our wild turkeys passing through from farmland to orchard as well as our Jersey heifers, Daisy Bell and Patty Duke, both of which are being hand-raised and will, in time, supply us with milk for our own butter and cheeses.
The sunshine hours in winter are among the longest in New Zealand, and so you won’t have to worry about cabin fever, though you may decide to curl up by one of our fireplaces with a good book.
